Hulu Plus TV Experience

Using a remote control can be cumbersome, and people can spend more time browsing for things to watch than actually enjoying their favorite television shows.
The Hulu Plus core TV app was designed to make it easy to access the shows you watch regularly, while providing a rich browsing experience for discovering more content.
The team at Hulu focused on a few key improvements over existing streaming video experiences.
The main browsing pages begin with full‑width cover images linking to featured, popular, and recommended videos.
A row of Shows You Watch, easily accessible near the top of the Home screen, is automatically generated based on your viewing behavior and the availability of new content.
Finally, the “Smart Start” feature lets you pick up where you left off on any show you're watching.
I was the principal designer for this product, which first launched on the Sony PS3 in 2012 and subsequently released on Roku and other devices.
The design patterns created in this program were later extended to other Hulu Plus experiences on mobile devices and the redesign of the Hulu website.
