HP WebOS Touchpad Software

The WebOS Touchpad was HP's first tablet after acquiring Palm.
Working with an aggressive product launch schedule, the team's overall strategy was to preserve the best DNA from the Palm software while creating design patterns better suited to a tablet form-factor.
I was hired as a Senior freelance contributor for the systems design team at the start of the project.
We were responsible for the design of the core WebOS navigation model, common design pattens, gestures and animations, UI controls, and example application designs.
I led design activities for system features such as Card View, Just Type, and Launcher, as well as the Messaging, Memos, and Tasks Apps.
Early in the process, I also created and maintained the WebOS design stencil kit, which was a living document of the latest design patterns and UI components for the Touchpad.
This was used primarily by the HP design team and external vendors to ensure a consistent look and feel across applications.
