Amazon Echo Show Recast Experience
The Fire TV Recast is a headless device with antenna input that enables you to watch and record over-the-air video content using your Fire TV or Echo Show. Working in the Alexa Video team, I collaborated with the Fire TV team to design the Echo Show's multi-modal interface to the Recast.
Using your voice, you can set up the Recast device on your local network to connect wirelessly with your Echo Show. Once your devices are connected, you can ask Alexa to search, watch, and record live tv programs. The Echo Show also has a touch interface for manual scrolling of search results and on-screen video controls.

When recording requests are ambiguous, Alexa asks which program you want to record while displaying a list of matches on the Echo Show.
Alexa immediately handles high confidence requests while providing voice feedback.
List items adhere to a strict template. Only the most relevant metadata is displayed in order to help you make a decision.
If you also have a Fire TV, the first time you request a live feed from Echo Show requires you to set up its connection to the Recast device.
