Buying and Selling in Facebook Groups

People use Facebook in ways it was never intended.
Observing that buying and selling in groups was already a popular organic trend, Facebook saw an opportunity to improve this experience.
To begin, the team designed and built a composer for sellers to enter key product details such as title, price, and location.
Presenting structured posts would make browsing stories within a group much easier while also enabling better search and filtering.
The structured composer and story views were initially rolled out to a limited set of buy/sell/trade groups as the team continued to refine the product experience.
We received positive feedback early on, and a wider public launch with richer features on mobile and desktop platforms was launched in early 2015.
